STUM-STVM

Features

R.V.R. Television family STU/STV (for UHF/VHF) transmitters is composed of medium and high power transmitters LD-MOS for UHF and MOSFET for VHF, for the transmission of analog TV signals according to all standards. The amplification is common for audio and video thereby making the amplifiers ready for use with DVB-T digital television signals by simply replacing the analog modulator with the COFDM modulator for DVB-T. The transmitters are manufactured respecting the norms for personnel security according to the IEC 215 standard. EXCITERS

The R.V.R. Television exciters STU 05/STV 05 (UHF/VHF) have been designed to respond to the demands of combined amplification of the solid state amplifiers that employ LD-MOS/MOSFET. The extremely compact dimensions of the main frame that hosts the modules of the exciter (3U), even in the IRT stereo version, also allow the insertion of the optional Dual Drive in the same rack; in addition, the local oscillator is of the synthesized type, with the possibility of OFFSET at intervals of 1Hz from -32 KHz to +32 KHz. The stability of the local oscillator is of ± 150 Hz at six months and a 5 MHz external reference input in order to obtain a stability of ± 1 Hz, necessary for the precision offset, is also available. All routine adjustments can easily be effectuated from the front panel of the exciter itself. AMPLIFIERS

The basic element of the power amplifiers comprises a mainframe of 5 rack units; 2 RF modules of 300W p.s. (for the 500W, STU / STV 25) or 4 RF modules again of 300W p.s. (for the 1000W, STU / STV 31), can be housed in this mainframe. The ventilation is assured by means of 2 high efficiency and high MTBF ventilators; the power supply of the final RF modules has been developed by means of switching power supplies directed by the network, one for each RF module, to obtain maximum redundancy, while the pilot RF is powered by the same power supplies in parallel (OR). This solution allows for “soft degradation”, that is, the reduction of output power in case of malfunctioning of wither an RF module or of a power supply. The heat sync has been designed to obtain very high efficiency levels that allow the amplifiers to function in the most severe of weather conditions. The higher power transmitters are developed through the combination of 2 amplifiers of 1000W for the 2KW (STU/STV 32), with a hybrid of 3dB, and 5 amplifiers of 1000W for the 5 KW p.s. (STU/STV 35) by 5-way power combiners, in turn combined FILTERS

The output RF filters are of the BAND-PASS type for the elimination of intermodulation products out of the channel and assure that the transmitter meets the CCIR norms.
